Blackpool & Fleetwood Yacht Club offers a welcoming environment for those looking to begin their powerboating journey. Nestled along the scenic Wyre River in Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire, this RYA-recognised training centre provides instruction from qualified and friendly instructors who are passionate about helping new boaters develop their skills. The club runs a range of RYA powerboat courses, including the Level 1 Start Powerboating course—perfect for complete beginners covering low-speed manoeuvres, safety checks, and launching techniques—as well as the comprehensive Level 2 Powerboat Handling programme. As an ICC (International Certificate of Competence) Test Centre, they can also help you obtain the certification needed for boating abroad.
