3rd Chalkwell Bay Sea Scouts is one of the largest and most active Sea Scout groups in the UK, serving over 250 young people from their waterfront base in Old Leigh, Essex. Recognised by the Royal Navy as one of the top 100 Sea Scout groups in the country, they've earned the prestigious Queen's Award for Voluntary Service for their outstanding work developing young sailors. As an RYA Recognised Training Centre, they offer year-round maritime training programmes that combine practical seamanship skills with personal development. Based at Victoria Wharf overlooking the Thames Estuary, members benefit from extensive on-water activities in a supportive, community-focused environment. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to develop your sailing abilities further, this award-winning group provides excellent foundations for anyone aged 6-25+ who wants to learn the ropes and discover a lifelong passion for the water.
